Lenses
Plastic lenses, because of their lightness and strength, have largely replaced glass. There are many different options for lenses, such as scratch resistant coatings, ultraviolet coatings to filter the harmful rays of the sun. One can also get photochromic lenses which lighten or darken depending on the amount of sunlight. One of the most popular coatings for lenses is the anti reflective coating, which eliminates glare and shine on the lens.

When light hits a surface it causes severe glare. Glare will impair vision and can interfere with colour and depth perception. Glare can occur anywhere. It can be reflected off large areas of water or even on the windshield of the car. Driving directly into the sunlight temporarily blinds the driver and the glare off the surface can cause a blinding light. Who can wear polarised lenses?
