COVID-19 Update

We have been open since Monday, 1st June 2020 and taking a whole host of safety measures to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being. Meanwhile, a new set of guidelines has categorised patient care as ‘essential care’ in a range of situations. Thus, some situations when one will be considered to be falling within the essential care category are as follows:

  • They are at an increased risk with clinical risk factors due to the passage of time since their last examination.
  • They have vision problems, including those with broken spectacles, and are undertaking more vision-dependent tasks such as driving and working as the lockdown eases.
  • They are anxious or concerned about their vision and this may be impacting their wellbeing.

All patients will be considered on a case by case basis by the appropriate clinician, firstly using remote triage, to determine whether in their professional judgement the patient requires a face to face appointment. In case you do need an appointment, we have left no stone unturned to ensure your safety.

Firstly, we have changed our working hours to 10:30 am – 5 pm on Mondays through Fridays and 11 am – 4 pm on Saturdays, so that you can avoid the rush hour tube travel. In the interest of creating a safe environment for you at our store, we have implemented social distancing measures.

In line with this, a maximum of only 3 people will be allowed in the store at any given time. Thus, we would request you to make an appointment before you come to see us at the store to avoid any inconvenience to you.

We will all be wearing quality PPE in order to maintain utmost safety and hygiene. Sanitisers will be available for you upon arrival and before leaving the store to ensure your safety. Moreover, we have invested heavily in disinfectant wipes to ensure proper cleaning and dis-infection of surfaces before and after your visit. We have also increased the overall time duration for each exam to enable us to ensure that all areas of the room and equipment are cleaned before and after each visit.

 We are also making changes to the way we work and how things are laid out at our practice in the interest of safety. Thus, our eye examination rooms have been vented to ensure a constant flow of air in the rooms.

All non-essential stores have been allowed to open from Monday, 15th June onwards. This means you could now come into the store to check and try frames for yourself, if you wish. Further, non-essential face-to-face care for private patients can also resume from Monday, 15th June onwards. This will be done on a case to case basis based on patient need and symptoms while adhering to the guidance on safety and infection control. Please book an appointment before you come into the store to ensure that we are able to adhere to the social distancing norms and avoid any inconvenience to you.

Moreover, if there is an emergency need for glasses you can avail our same day service, wherein we can help choose a frame for you via virtual consultation and get them couriered or posted to you to avoid you coming into the practice.
